Christie becomes the eighth woman's basketball player or coach to be inducted. Christie came out of Lowndes High to lead the first four Valdosta State teams to a 91-19 record against the best women's teams in the country. She is the fourth all-time leading scorer in Lady Blazer history with 1978 points in 109 games, and is VSU's first four-year letterwinner, earning all-state, all-region and All-America honors.

In her individual career, Christie holds the record for points scored with 1978 (1974-78), field goals made with 756 (1974-78), free throws made with 468 (1974-78), and games played in with 109 in her four years. In a single game, she holds the record for points scored with 43 against Mississippi College, field goals made with 17 versus Savannah State and free throws made with 13 against Belmont. For a season, Christie holds the record for free throws made with 143 and free throws attempted in her time as a Lady Blazer.
