Herb Reinhard has been the athletic director for Valdosta State for 32 years, beginning at the school in January of 1992 as he will complete his career in June of 2024.  Reinhard is credited with prominently placing Valdosta State University on the national map of collegiate athletics, including a dominance across NCAA Division II programs. During his tenure, VSU's athletic programs have won 51 of the school's 55 Gulf South Conference Championships and 8 of its 9 National Championships.  Reinhard came to Titletown from Florida A&M University where he was the assistant athletic director for marketing and promotions.  Reinhard is the longest tenured athletic director in the Gulf South Conference and also has been credited with restarting VSU women's volleyball in 1995 and adding women's soccer in 2011 and numerous projects including the addition of the VSU Athletic Fieldhouse in 2009.  He was named one of 45 finalists for the NCAA Gold Award in honor of the 50th Anniversary of NCAA Division II in November, 2023.
