His effect on VSU athletics has not been limited to just football as he also helped the men's tennis team to three straight NCAA championship matches, including the 2006 national title victory. Doscher has been honored for his work on several occasions, including in 2005 when he was named the national College Strength and Conditioning Professional-of-the-Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He followed that by being named the Samson NCAA Division II Strength and Conditioning Coach-of-the-Year by American Football Weekly in 2007.
