Requesting a Media Credential

Effective September 24, 2025: All working media personnel must complete the credential request form to gain access to any athletic event hosted by Valdosta State University. Credentials for Blazer home games are issued through the Athletics Communications office with preference being given to official media outlines. Official media outlets are defined as newspapers, television stations, radio stations and digital media that provide coverage of VSU sports or opponents of VSU on a regular basis. Media representing websites that sponsor message boards, message centers, or chat rooms where anonymous information can be posted or post on private social media accounts will not be issued credentials. Please be advised that VSU is NOT obligated to honor all requests and reserves the right to accept, deny or revoke any and all requests at is own discretion.

PER NCAA, GSC, and VSU Guidelines, media credentials are restricted to only members of the working media. Non-working spouses, relatives, friends, and children are not permitted to bear credentials and are not permitted in any of the working press areas including but not limited to sideline, press box, locker rooms and other team areas. Violators will be escorted out by university police and future requests for credentials will be denied. In the event the credential holder posts photos on any social media platform of the credentials, that person will have its credential revoked for the season and any future events.

Requests for Media Credentials must be submitted at least one week in advance of the event. Requests submitted after the deadline along with walk up requests will not be accepted. Approved Media Credentials can be picked up in the Valdosta State Athletics Communication Office prior to that date of competition. On the day of competition, credentials can be picked up at the facility box office starting one hour prior to the start of the event. Each person must present a government-issued form of identification to collect pass. Credentials must be worn and visible to event staff at all times while inside the site of competition.

Freelance Photography/Videography

All freelance / independent media approved for a credential request must submit photos and video content from each game to the Valdosta State Athletics Marketing department within 48 hours of the completion of the event. Failure to submit content prior to deadline will result in forfeiture of media credential.  Content can be submitted via dropbox, WeTransfer.com, Google Drive, or any other high-capacity transfer method. Content should be submitted to grichard@valdosta.edu, trinitythomas@valdosta.edu and mejablonski@valdosta.edu.

Post Game

Post-game interview requests must be made through the athletics communications office. Any post game interviews will not take place until a minimum 10-minute cooling off period has taken place. Post game availability and location is at the sole discretion of the sports information director or designee.

The Sports Information Director or designee will make available all stats, game stories, wrap-ups, etc. following the completion of every home contest to all news media in attendance. The information will be distributed electronically to local, regional and national media not in attendance. It is our goal to make results and write ups available no later than two hours after the events conclusion. Please note, that should multiple events run concurrently or consecutively, that timeline may be extended.

By completing the request form you agree to read and abide by all media credential, event and facility policies.
