The 2006 national championship men’s tennis team. After a near miss two seasons before, the 2006 men’s tennis team capped off the Blazers rise to national prominence as the squad won its first national championship. The squad rolled through the early part of its schedule, winning its first 20 matches of the season en route to a 26-1 record on the year. The team capped off the season with a dominating 5-2 victory over Lynn in the national championship match, giving Valdosta State its third overall national title.
