Hall of Fame
A long time supporter of Valdosta State University and the Valdosta State Athletics Department, Dr. Lamar Pearson has spent much of his life enriching the lifes of students at VSU. He served as a professor in the Valdosta State history department for 40 years before retiring from the classroom in 2005, but not from his support of Blazer Athletics, as he is now in his 45th year supporting VSU athletics. In 2001, the Valdosta State Athletic Department named its Community Service award after him and his wife, Nancy. Dr. Pearson played baseball at Valdosta State during the 1950’s and was president of the Letterman’s Club as an underclassman.
