NBA Summer League

VALDOSTA, Ga.– Former Valdosta State basketball standout Jeremiah Hill has had a strong start for the Orlando Magic in the NBA Summer League.

"Playing in the Summer League has been a great opportunity for me," Hill said.  "It's been a chance for me to further my growth in basketball and showcase what I have to offer.  VSU helped pave the way for my future in basketball and helped me become the player I am today."

Hill played for the Blazers and head coach Mike Helfer for three seasons in Titletown as Hill earned Gulf South Conference Player of the Year honors in 2017 and earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America honors.  He capped an outstanding senior campaign averaging 19.6 points per game and led the team in scoring, assists and steals as he scored 30 or more points four times during the season.

For his career, the Savannah, Ga., native, played in 77 games for the red and black with 55 starts, going 374 of 883 from the field (.424), while draining 168 triples and made 173 free throws.  He recorded 232 assists with 142 steals and 1,089 career points for a 14.1 scoring average.

This past year, he competed for the Lakeland Magic in the NBA G-League where he played in 44 games averaging 7.0 points per game and 2.5 assists per contest.

This summer, he has played in all four games in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nev., for the Orlando Magic and started two.  He is averaging 10.0 points per game and 4.75 assists per game.

Hill led all-scorers with 21 points, while adding five rebounds and six assists against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday as he was named the Player of the Game by the Magic. Hill and the Magic will play in a tournament this weekend in Las Vegas to conclude the Summer League season. Check local listings on ESPN and NBA.com for the schedule of games for this weekend.
