VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State senior men's basketball standout
Drew Mills was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Second Team All-South Region, the organization announced Monday.
Mills, a native of Baltimore, Md., earned Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-Region honors earlier this month. He capped a spectacular 2025-26 season as he earned First Team All-Gulf South Conference honors, recognizing one of the most consistent and dynamic offensive performers in the league. He finished the seasons averaging 19.4 points per game, the result of an efficient scoring attack where he connected on 217 of 408 field goal attempts (.532), 18 of 67 three-pointers (.269) and 111 of 145 free throws (.766) across 766 total minutes played. He also contributed 168 rebounds (5.8 per game), 42 assists, 24 blocks and 18 steals, showcasing a complete impact on both ends of the floor.
He was a constant threat to take over games and finished with five, 30+ point outings during the season and scored 31 points in the GSC Quarterfinal to eclipse 1,000 career points in just two seasons in Titletown. He became the 27th player in Blazer men's basketball history to score 1,000 points finishing with 1,017.
Mills finished second in the GSC in scoring at 19.4 points per game for 47th nationally, while his 563 points were most in the league and 29th nationally. He led the league in field goals made (217) for 13th nationally, while he attempted 408 field goals for second in the GSC and 38th nationally. Mills' .532 field goal percentage placed his third in the league.
Along with Mills on the NABC Second Team are Kusamae Draper of Tuskegee, Brandon Fussell of Montevallo, Amare Miller of Florida Southern and Terranc Ringo of Union. The first team included; Rasean Frederick of West Alabama, Dallas Graziani of Nova Southeastern, along with Preston Le Gassick of Palm Beach Atlantic, Derek Moore of Montevallo and Ross Reeves of Nova Southeastern.
