Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's tennis teams dropped its season-opener Wednesday at No. 25 Georgia College, 7-0.
The Bobcats won all three doubles matches, taking the initial team point as Division II switched to the Division I format of doubles being worth one point for winning two of the three matches with the subsequent singles matches each being worth one point.

Amelia Cornwall, 6-1. GC's duo of Emila Richter and Valeria Lopez defeated VSU tandem junior Estee Widdershoven and freshman
Eva Rivoal at the top spot, 6-2, while the No. 2 position went to a tiebreaker with GC duo of Paula Garriga and Jordan Bowie edged out VSU senior

Hera Bork Brynjarsdottir, 7-6.
The Bobcats won all six singles matches with five in straight-sets. Fleming downed Rivoal 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (11-9) for the win at No. 5, while Brynjarsdottir lost 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4.
The VSU women's tennis team opens the 2019 home season Saturday at 10 a.m. at the VSU Tennis Complex against Nova Southeastern and will head to Columbus State for a match on Sunday.
