Final Results
LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 49 Valdosta State men's golf team fired a final round 300 at the Matlock Collegiate Classic Tuesday, improving two places for a ninth-place finish on the par 72, 7,065-yard Lone Palm Golf Club course. VSU finished with a 54-hole score of 896. No. 3 Lynn won the 15-team tournament with an 855 score, edging top-ranked Barry by two strokes.
No. 6 West Florida finished third at 858, followed by a tie for fourth between No. 7 and host Florida Southern and No. 40 Columbus State, each with an 875. No. 25 Cal State Monterey Bay finished sixth with an 877 score, followed by No. 13 Limestone at 879 and No. 10 Nova Southeastern finished eighth at 888.
The Blazers were ninth, edging No. 2 Florida Tech by two strokes, while No. 5 St. Leo finished 11
thwith an 899 score as VSU tallied two great top five wins. Georgia College was 12
that 901, followed by No. 23 Rollins (903), No. 45 Montevallo was 14
th(913) and Eckerd was 15
that 938. VSU picked up wins over four teams ranked higher for the tournament.
Barry's Jorge Garcia fired a final round 64 for the low-round of the tournament to earn medalist honors as he improved three spots from yesterday to finish with a 12-under 204 (68,72,64). Florida Southern's Max Coutsolioutsos was runner-up at 7-under for a 209, edging three players who finished tied for third at 210 in the 75-player field.

Matt Anderson fired a final round 71 for the team-low round of the tournament to finish tied for 27

Wesley Hanson each with a 226 score. Healy fired rounds of 73, 73, 80, while Hanson carded rounds of 74, 74 and 78. Freshman
