Alexander Nilehn fired a 73 on Friday in the second round of the 2026 NCAA South/Southeast Regional on the par 72, 7,012-yard Valdosta Country Club course. Teammate junior
William Carestam fired a 78 in the second round as the duo will play in the final round on Saturday morning in a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Nilehn is 64
th with a 149 score on rounds of 76 and 73. Carestam is 104
th with a 160 score on rounds of 82 and 78. As for the teams, top-ranked West Florida fired a 280 on Friday for a 15-under 561 score, while No. 16 Nova Southeastern also fired a 280 to finish 15-under though 36-holes for a tie for first heading into the final round. No. 6 Georgia Southwestern sits third at 13-under 563, while No. 2-ranked Lee jumped five spots with a 13-under 275 score for a 12-under 564 for fourth, while No. 4 Florida Southern rounds out the top five at 9-under 567.
The top seven teams and the top two individuals from non-advancing teams will move onto the NCAA Division II National Championship rounds, scheduled for May 18-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
