VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State senior offensive linemen
Adonis Sealey and
Brandon Kemp were named to the D2CCA All-America Teams, announced Thursday. Sealey earned first team honors, while Kemp was a second team selection.
This is the second-straight year Sealey has been named a D2CCA All-American, as he was a second team selection in 2018. This season, the Hamer, S.C., native, finished third in the voting for the prestigious Gene Upshaw Award for the most outstanding lineman of the year in Division II. He earned American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Second Team All-America honors this season and was an All-America selection in other publications last season. He was named first team all-conference in both seasons in Titletown and earned GSC All-Academic honors last season, along with Academic All-District honors as selected by CoSIDA this season. He also is a member of the Valdosta State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Sealey capped an incredible two-year run at VSU after transferring from Presbyterian College. He started 25 games and helped lead VSU to a 24-1 record, including a national championship in 2018 with a school-record 14-0 season. He anchored an offensive line that is fourth nationally in total offense at 523.2 yards per game and had the league's top rusher in sophomore
Jamar Thompkins.
This is the second-straight year VSU has had a D2CCA First Team All-America honoree and former Blazer center
Jeremy King earned first team honors in 2018.
Kemp, an Atlanta, Ga., native, earned first team All-GSC honors this season and second team accolades in 2018. He, like Sealey, was an anchor on the offensive line this year that helped the offense to fourth nationally in total offense at 522.1 yards per game to lead the league. They blocked for D2CCA Super Region Two Player of the Year in quarterback
Rogan Wells and the line helped the Blazers to 260.2 yards rushing per game for 11
th nationally and first in the GSC, while the team passed for 261.9 yards for 36
th nationally and second in the league. VSU is second nationally in third down conversion percentage this season at a .528 clip.
Both Kemp and Sealey earned AP Division II Second Team All-America honors this season, too.
