Valdosta State fell behind early after dropping two out of three in doubles action. Isabella Lowrey and Liucelena Perez defeated Bea Morales Hernandez and Anke Poncelet, 8-5, at No. 1, and Nastassia Rubel teamed up with Simone Pratt to knock off VSU's Sabrina Schmidt and Daniela Barta combo, 8-2, at No. 2.

In singles action, Perez overtook Morales Hernandez, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1, and NSU's Rubel defeated Schmidt at No. 3 to put the Blazers on the ropes with a 4-1 advantage.
