VALDOSTA, Ga. - In the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Poll released this week, both the men's and women's tennis teams for Valdosta State found themselves among the nation's best, as the Blazers came in at No. 10, while the Lady Blazers earned a spot at No. 11.
Both teams are gearing up for a big weekend with the Lady Blazers (4-2, 2-0 GSC) set to square off against the No. 2 Lady Buccaneers of Barry (4-1), and the Blazers also set to face Barry's men's team (4-0), currently ranked at No. 3 in the national ITA rankings. Both of those matches are slated for a 2:00 p.m. start on Friday.
The weekend continues for VSU on Sunday at noon, when the Lady Blazers host the No. 7 West Florida Argonauts (3-1, 1-0 GSC) and the Valdosta State men's team faces UWF's men's team (4-0, 1-0 GSC), who represents the No. 1 team in all of Division II.
