BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference Game of the Week returns for the 14^th year and is scheduled to feature Valdosta State University twice during the 10-game schedule on ESPN3 and the ESPN app.
 
ESPN3 will serve as the exclusive carrier of the league's package for the fifth straight season.  The 2018 slate features nine Saturday contests and one Thursday night game.  The Blazers will be featured on ESPN3 the final two weeks of the season in a key Nov. 3 matchup at 2017 national runner-up West Florida and Nov. 10 in the regular season finale against rival West Georgia at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. 
 
"We are proud to continue to feature GSC football on a national stage on a weekly basis," said GSC Commissioner Matt Wilson.  "The ESPN digital platforms maximize exposure and allow fans, student-athletes, and future recruits easy access to the best football in Division II."

Don Russell will continue to be the play-by-play voice of the league, and he will once again be joined by Rick Rhodes as the color commentator. 
 
VSU is looking to return to the postseason for the seventh time in the last ten years as the Blazers missed the postseason in 2017 for the first time since 2013.  The Blazers report­­­ Aug. 5 and official fall camp begins Aug. 6.  The 2018 preseason schedule concludes on Saturday, Aug. 25 with the annual Meet the Blazers event at 10 a.m., after the fall scrimmage at 8 a.m.
