The current rankings go as follows:

Rank School (Conference) Overall Record In-Region Record

2 West Florida (GSC) 31-17 31-17
3 Fla. Southern (SSC) 32-12 28-11
4 Delta St. (GSC) 32-16 32-16
5 Rollins (SSC) 27-16 22-12

9 Nova Southeastern (SSC) 23-18 23-17
10 Spring Hill (SIAC) 35-12 35-12

The top eight teams get selected to play in the NCAA DII South Region Tournament, with the winner of each conference tournament getting an automatic bid. The Gulf South Conference (GSC) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) have tournaments beginning at the end of the week while the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) does not have a tournament.

Based on the rankings the Blazers are technically in if the season ended today but due to an automatic big given to the SIAC winner, Valdosta State is on the outside looking in.

VSU is 8-7 against the ten teams in the rankings including a three-game sweep over Mississippi College during GSC play and a two-game sweep over Nova Southeastern.

The Blazers look to improve their ranking as they head to Oxford, Ala. to play in the GSC Baseball Championship starting with the Lee Flames on Friday, May 2 at 2 p.m. ET.
