BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Valdosta State junior men's golfer Alexander Nilehn was named to the Gulf South Conference Spring All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year, while 64 Blazers earned GSC Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition.

A native of Göteborg, Sweden, Nilehn put together another outstanding season for the Red and Black, earning an individual berth to the NCAA South/Southeast Regional where he finished 55th with a three-round score of 221. The appearance marked his first trip to NCAA postseason competition.

During the 2025-26 season, Nilehn competed in 12 tournaments and 36 rounds, posting 33 rounds in the 70s and two in the 60s. He recorded a season-low round of 66 at the Saint Leo Invitational and registered one top-three finish, tying for third at The Griffin Invitational. Nilehn also recorded four top-10 finishes, including a ninth-place finish at the 2026 GSC Championships with a 3-under-par 213.
Nilehn earned Second Team All-GSC honors for the second straight season in 2026 and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for the second time in his career. The honor marks the third consecutive year he has been named to the GSC Academic Honor Roll. He currently carries a 3.65 grade-point average while majoring in finance.

Last season, Nilehn was named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar. For his career, he has competed in 31 tournaments and 91 rounds, compiling a 73.6 stroke average. He has recorded 78 rounds in the 70s and 10 rounds in the 60s during his collegiate career.

For the 2025-26 academic year, Valdosta State had 161 student-athletes named to the GSC Academic Honor Roll. Nilehn joins women's basketball standout Erin Whalen and football standouts Josh Brown, Sam Curry, Ethan Eddins, Steven Mauro, and Brayden Rasnek as Valdosta State's GSC All-Academic selections during the academic year.
