VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State baseball's Hunter Stowe and softball's Krisley Arnold have been named this week's Steel's Jewelry Athletes of the Week.

Krisley Arnold hit a team-best .375 for the week on 3 of 8 from the dish with two runs scored, two home runs and four RBI in a three-game series at Christian Brothers this past weekend.  Arnold slugged 1.125 with two walks for a .500 on base clip, while registering five putouts in seven chances with no errors.  She went 3 for 3 with two runs scored, four RBI, one walk and two home runs for her first multi-home run game of her career in the 14-10 win on Saturday against CBU.  In that game, VSU hit a school and GSC-record eight home runs.  The three hits marked her third game this season of registering three hits, while the four RBI were a season-best. The Adel, Ga. native was named GSC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after last week's performance.

Hunter Stowe went 8-16 (.500) at the plate last week with five doubles, one home run, eight RBI, five runs scored, and a stolen base. The Birmingham product hit his ninth home run on Tuesday at Georgia Southwestern before going off against Christian Brothers, as he tallied five doubles across three games and drove in seven with the Blazers sweeping the Bucs to go 4-0 on the week. Stowe was named GSC Player of the Week for the first time this season as the slugger turned heads.
