VALDOSTA, Ga. – Following a 5-1 record at Billy Grant Field last week, the Valdosta State Blazers will hit the road for a single game on Tuesday, Mar. 11 at 4 p.m. versus the Georgia College Bobcats.
After starting the season 2-8, VSU has rallied back to a 12-10 overall record while sitting at 9-2 in GSC play as sit half a game back of #13 Delta State for first, who they play this upcoming weekend. Georgia College is currently sitting at 12-11 overall and are 6-0 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC).

DJ Banks has reached base in all 22 games thus far as he leads the team in hits with 34 while batting .391 and is tied for fourth in the league in RBI with 23.
Marcos Sevillano continues to lead the league in batting average as he is hitting .472 while he is 25-53 at the dish while hitting seven doubles. The leadoff hitter
Pedro Moreno has started in all 22 games and leads the team in stolen bases with six while racking up 28 hits for a .318 batting average while getting on base at a .429 clip. Outfielder
Easton Hood is leading the league in doubles and slugging percentage as Hood has smacked ten doubles and is slugging .840 while starting 15 games.
Georgia College is 12-11 on the season and are 0-5 in ranked games as they were swept by top ranked Tampa to open the year. The Bobcats are 6-0 in the PBC as they swept their first two home conference series versus Augusta and USC Beaufort. GCSU is led by head coach Nolan Belcher, who is 124-95 in his five seasons. Belcher's offense is led by slugging first baseman Braeden Smith, who has slugged seven homers and driven in 30 while starting in all 23 games. Ben Hamacher leds the team in hits and average as he has 32 hits for a .340 batting average on 23 starts.
Following the Tuesday afternoon matchup, VSU will hit the road to Cleveland, Miss. to play #13 Delta State for a weekend series.
