VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State senior Drake LaRoche continues to bring home the awards this week, as he was named NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

In his lone start this weekend, the righty from Fort Scott, Kan. threw six innings of one-hit ball in the 11-0 Blazer win of the Rollins Tars. It was LaRoche's VSU debut, as he transferred from Birmingham-Southern College and joined head coach Jan Weisberg in Titletown. LaRoche completed this feat on just 56 pitches while striking out six batters and allowing no free passes.

Valdosta State hosts Embry-Riddle this weekend for the home opener, as they play on Friday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. to begin the weekend series. VSU will then play ERU on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. followed by game three on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 12 p.m.
