VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's soccer team will close the 2025 season on Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET in a makeup match at Union. The teams were supposed to play on Oct. 26, but the match was moved to Nov. 5 due to inclement weather.
The Blazers are coming off a 1-1 weekend where it closed the 2025 home slate with a thrilling 3-1 win over Mississippi College on Sunday afternoon. In the match, MC scored the first goal in the first half, before the Blazers responded for three scores in the second half with two from junior

VSU enters the season finale with a 5-8-4 record overall and a 3-7-1 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The Blazers with a win on Wednesday can tie for eighth in the GSC standings, but will not advance to the conference tournament as UAH also is eighth and beat VSU head-to-head this season.
Union (4-6-4, 3-6-2 GSC) can pass UAH for eighth and qualify for the conference tournament with a win over the Blazers. If VSU wins or ties, Union does not qualify for the conference tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a 1-1 tie at Trevecca Nazarene on Sunday and lost 4-1 to Lee on Halloween. Against TNU, Union's Tessa Ezren scored in the 69
th minute for a 1-0 lead, but the Trojans scored just 4:05 later leveling the match at 1-1. Union held a 21-12 lead in shots for the match.
VSU owns an 8-2-2 record all-time against Union and has won the last two in the series both in Valdosta in 2023 (2-0) and 2024 (3-2). Union won 1-0 in Jackson, Tenn., on Oct. 7, 2022, but VSU leads the series 3-2 in road matches. VSU has won six of the last seven in the series.
This season, Youmans leads the team with five goals and six assists for 16 points. She has 30 shots (.167) with 18 on goal (.600) and two game winners for the season in 17 matches played with 14 starts. Junior
Kaitlyn Scherer is one of two Blazers to start all 17 matches as she is second in scoring with 12 points on five goals and two assists. She has 21 shots (.238) with 14 on target (.667) and two game winners. Sophomore
Maria Rojas is third in scoring with 10 points on four goals and two assists. She leads the team with 32 shots (.125) and 17 on goal (.531), while registering one game winner.

Claire Timberlake is 5-6-4 this season in 15 starts for 1311:43 minutes. She has allowed 21 goals (1.44. GAA) with 69 saves and faced 161 shots. She has two shutouts and combined on one shutout for the season.
Blazer head coach
Stephen Andrew is in his ninth season at the helm of the Blazers. He is the winningest coach in program history with a 71-61-18 record at VSU, while he is 54-42-11 in GSC play. Andrew is in his 19
th year of coaching and is 211-116-27 overall with stops at Piedmont and Huntingdon Colleges.
Union is led this season by Lucia Revuelto who has 11 points on the year with two goals and a team-high seven assists. She has 53 shots (.038) with 29 on goal (.547) and is 1 for 1 in penalty kicks. Paige Blackburn and Lucia Garcia are second in scoring with eight points each. Garcia leads the team with four goals, while Blackburn has three goals and two assists and a team-high two game winners.
In goal, Dehlia Placie leads the team playing in 11 matches with ten starts for 800:52 minutes. She has allowed 13. Goals (1.46 GAA) with 39 saves and faced 121 shots with a 2-5-2 record. She has three shutouts and combined on a shutout with Anita Lopez Rodriguez who is 2-0-2 on the year in 435:48 minutes with 29 saves.
