5/12/2021 1:46:00 PM

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Tickets for the 2021 NCAA Division II Softball South Regional are on sale now in the Valdosta State Athletic Ticket Office.  VSU will host the South Regional, scheduled for May 19-22 at Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park.

Daily Session Tickets will be $10 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors, while Tournament Passes will be $25 for adults and $15 for youth and seniors.  Tournament passes are available by calling 229-333-SEAT (7328), Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.  Daily Session tickets are not available in advance of the tournament and only will be available the day of the games.  Doors will open 90 minutes prior to the first game of each day.

The Blazers were awarded hosting duties for the regional last month as the NCAA Division II Championships Committee chose pre-determined regional sites for the 2021 NCAA Division II Softball Championships.  Due to health and safety protocols surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic, it is necessary to conduct all NCAA championship competition at predetermined sites.  The committee believes the sites and hosts chosen will provide an exceptional and safe experience for all participants.

Participating teams in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship are scheduled to be announced May 16 at 10 p.m. ET and live streamed on NCAA.com.  Regional host institutions will host the regional regardless of if their team qualifies for the NCAA postseason or not.

The No. 9 Blazers finished the regular season as Co-Gulf South Conference champions with a 25-5 record and are 34-8 overall following the GSC Tournament this past weekend.  VSU is looking for an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament as it is 56-38 all-time in 18 appearances in the NCAA postseason with one national championship (2012) and two runner-up finishes (2010 & 2014).  Should the Blazers get selected Sunday evening, it would mark the 15th-straight trip for VSU to the NCAA postseason (no 2020 championship due to COVID-19).
