VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State softball team had its doubleheader, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 14 beginning at 2 p.m. ET, cancelled due to inclement weather Saturday and forecast for Sunday in Alabama. 
 
The twin bill has not been rescheduled at this point.  The No. 12 Blazers are 2-1 on the year and are scheduled to open Gulf South Conference play Feb. 20-21 at Shorter.  The doubleheader with Miles marks the second and third games cancelled this season as the finale of the Flagler Invitational on Feb. 8 was called off in the third inning due to thunderstorms in Saint Augustine, Fla.
 
Following the series at Shorter, VSU opens the 2021 home slate at Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park Feb. 27-28 with Mississippi College.   Check back with vstateblazers.com for all things VSU softball and all of Blazers' 12 intercollegiate athletic teams.
