VALDOSTA, Ga.- As the Valdosta State cross country teams wrapped up the NCAA South Regional this past weekend, junior
Angie Cipriani was recognized for her phenomenal performance with a D2 All-Region Selection courtesy of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The junior paced the Blazers on Saturday morning, with a 17th place finish overall. Cipriani's time sat at 22:46.39, which set a personal record for Cipriani in the 6k event. This time now represents the second fastest time in a 6k event in VSU history.
Cipriani has been the top runner on the women's side all season for VSU, leading the charge for the Blazers. Earlier this season at the Mountain Dew Invitational hosted the University of Florida, Cipriani dazzled with a 50
th place finish. The junior defeated many Division I opponents, on her way to a top 50 finish.
