INNISBROOK, Fla. – It was a tale of two rounds for the Valdosta State men's golf team at the Copperhead Championship Monday on par 71, 7,209-yard Copperhead Course at Innisbrook. VSU opened with a 1-under 283 for the first round, but struggled in the second round firing a 308 as the team is tied for 13
th through 36 holes with a team score of 591.Â

Barry leads the 17-team field with a 567 score and has the top individual through 36 holes with Tyler Bakich leading the field with a 5-under 137. Columbus State and Lincoln Memorial sit tied for second with a 569 score, while host West Florida is fourth at 570. Lynn and Georgia Southwestern are tied for fifth, each with a 577 score.

Following Bakich in the individual standings, Ronan Kleu of Columbus State and Dan Bradbury are tied for second at a 4-under 138, while Mauro Baez of Flagler and Luke Haries of Lincoln Memorial are tied for fourth with a 3-under 139.Â

For the Blazers, sophomore
Davis Smith is tied for 18
th to lead the team on rounds of 69 and 75 for a 144 score. Junior
AJ Ouimet is tied for 30
th with a 146 score on rounds of 67 and 79 while sophomore
Chase Weathers is tied for 71
st at 153 on rounds of 75 and 78. Junior
Wesley Hanson is tied for 73
rd with a 154 score on rounds of 78 and 76. Senior
Jordan Long opened with a 72, but didn't complete the second round as VSU wasn't able to drop a score in the second round.Â
