Sport Specific Information for Visiting Teams

BASEBALL
The VSU baseball athletic training room is located in the Billy Grant Field House at North Campus. This athletic training room is utilized for baseball practices and games. Please enter the field house through the front door, walk straight in, go through the reception area, and you will see the athletic training room to the right.

The athletic training room will open 1 1/2 hours prior to the start of the game. Other considerations may be made in advance.

Modalities available: hot packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and ice.

**If team is unaccompanied by an AT, please notify our staff at least 2 days in advance and provide written directions for care of student athletes as well as supplies. Following GSC policies, if the team is not accompanied by a Certified Athletic Trainer, treatments will be limited to non-electrical modalities.

Emergency Equipment/Services: 1) will be located adjacent to the VSU dugout; 2) Biohazard materials will be located in each dugout; 3) EMS is on call.

Fluids: 2 10-gal coolers with cups in each dugout

Ice: 1 flat in dugout with ice bags

BASKETBALL
The VSU PE Complex Athletic Training Room is utilized for basketball practices and games. The athletic training room is located on the North hallway (locker rooms are on the South hallway) of the PE Complex.

The athletic training room opens two hours prior to games. Other consideration may be made in advance.

Modalities available: ultrasound, hydrocollator, ice bags, paraffin bath, electrical stimulation.

**If team is unaccompanied by an AT, please notify our staff at least 2 days in advance and provide written directions for care of student athletes as well as supplies. Following GSC policies, if the team is not accompanied by a Certified Athletic Trainer, treatments will be limited to non-electrical modalities.

Emergency Equipment/Services: 1) will be located behind the home team bench; 2) Biohazard container will be located at bench; 3) EMS on call.

Fluids: 1) 1 10 gal cooler on bench with cups; 2) 1 5 gal cooler in locker room with cups

Ice: 1 flat on bench

CROSS COUNTRY
Medical tents are provided at Cross Country meets. These tents will be located near the finish line and have treatment tables located underneath them. No modality other than cold and hydration will be available. If a student-athlete needs medical attention before a race, the tent will be available 1 hour before the race.

Modalities available: ice bags and ice immersion

Following GSC policies, if the team is not accompanied by a Certified Athletic Trainer, treatments will be limited to non-electrical modalities.

Emergency Equipment/Services: 1) will be located at the start of the course; 2) Radio or cell phone communication with host AT; 3) EMS on call; 4) Non-emergency transportation; 5) One treatment table

Fluids: 4 10 gal coolers per station with cups

Ice: 1) 1 flat with ice bags; 2) Ice towels

FOOTBALL
Football Sidelines:
Emergency Equipment/Services: 1) Equipment will be located behind the home team bench; 2) Biohazard container will be located at bench; 3) EMS on site in NE end zone; 4) Non-emergency transportation available; 5) One examination/treatment table

Fluids: 1) 4 10 gal coolers on bench; 2) water source on sideline

Ice: 2 large rolling coolers

Other: 1) Ice towel buckets available as needed;  2) radio communication with a host AT

Football Locker-room:
Emergency Equipment/Services: Biohazard container

Fluids: 2 10 gal coolers

Ice: 1 flat

Other: 1) Taping tables; 2) 1 Treatment/Exam table; 3) 75 bottles Powerades

GOLF
Medical area will be setup in the course clubhouse. Supplies will be limited primarily to ice and emergency equipment. If you know a student-athlete will need something, please provide the supplies. 

Modalities available: ice bags

SOCCER
The Athletic Fieldhouse Athletic Training Room is utilized for soccer games. The athletic training room is along the main hallway on the west half of the building.

The athletic training room opens 2 hours before games. Other consideration may be made in advance.

Modalities available: Ultrasound, hydrocollator, ice bags, electrical stimulation

Ice: flat of ice and bags

Other: 1) buckets for ice towels (towels not provided); 2) AT on duty or radio accessible

SOFTBALL
The VSU softball athletic training room is located in the Softball Field House at North Campus. This athletic training room is utilized for softball practices and games. Please enter the athletic training room through the 2nd door on the Right at the back of the building.

The athletic training room will open 1 1/2 hours prior to the start of the game. Other considerations may be made in advance.
