Chloe Eichelberger were named Steel's Jewelry Blazer Athletes of the Week.
Butler, a native of Marietta, Ga., tossed a complete game, 7.0-inning victory at Trevecca Nazarene in the series finale on Saturday, 3-2. Butler scatted four hits over the seven innings, allowing two earned runs, while walking two and fanning six as the Blazers handed TNU its first loss in eight games.
For the season, Butler is 1-0 in ten innings of work, allowing eight hits, six runs – four earned, walked three and fanned 13 as teams are hitting .216 against him. He has a 3.60 ERA for the seasons in two starts with the one complete game.
Eichelberger, a Tampa, Fla., native had a Gulf South Conference-opening series to remember, slashing .750/.778/2.000 in a series sweep of Trevecca Nazarene. Eichelberger went 6 of 8 from the dish (.750), while scoring three runs with one double, three home runs and drive in a team-high seven. She walked one time and didn't strikeout. Eichelberger slugged 2.000 for the week and had a .778 on base percentage. She went 2 for 3 with two home runs and three RBI in the 11-1 nightcap of Friday's doubleheader to seal the series victory, while she pinch-hit a two RBI single in the top of the seventh to give VSU the lead 5-4 in the 7-4 opening victory.
For the season, Eichelberger is 11 of 16 from the dish with three runs scored, one double, three home runs and eight RBI with a 2.063 OPS.
