VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's basketball team fell 64–48 on the road at UAH in Huntsville. The loss moved the Lady Blazers to 9–9 overall and 6–6 in Gulf South Conference play, while the Chargers improved to 17–3 overall and remained perfect at 12–0 in the GSC.
Valdosta State stayed within reach early, trailing by four points after the opening quarter, but UAH used a strong second quarter to build a 32–22 advantage at halftime. The Chargers maintained control in the second half, limiting VSU's offense down the stretch.
Junior Erin Whalen led the Lady Blazers with 11 points, adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Sophomore Ka'Miah Pryor followed with 10 points, while senior Aryana Hicks contributed eight points and five rebounds as Valdosta State leaned on its veteran backcourt. Junior Alina Sapilak added six points on a pair of three-pointers.
UAH was paced by the GSC leading scorer in Lili Wilken, who finished with a game-high 21 points and seven rebounds. Bella White added nine points and five rebounds. As a unit, the Chargers shot above 43 percent from the field and connected on 11 three-pointers.
Valdosta State had carried a three game winning streak into Huntsville and will look to regain that momentum ahead of Saturday's game at West Alabama (8-7, 6-6 GSC).
