VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Graham Craig era gets underway as the Valdosta State football team is scheduled to begin August camp on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 8:15 a.m., at the VSU Athletic Field House.
The fall camp schedule features 15 practices culminating in a Saturday, Aug. 23 practice at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium at a time to be determined. Full pads will begin on the fifth practice on Monday, Aug. 11, while the team will have its first scrimmage on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 8:15 a.m. at the practice fields. The second scrimmage will be scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 4 p.m. at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.

Craig was named the twelfth head coach in Blazer football history on Jan. 20, 2025, after he served as offensive coordinator for the Blazers during the 2024 season. Craig helped lead VSU to its 11
th Gulf South Conference title and a NCAA Division II runner-up finish in 2024 as the Blazers went 13-1 overall and 6-0 in GSC play.
His offense finished 11
th nationally and tops in the GSC at 448.6 yards per game, while it was eighth nationally in scoring offense at 40.1 points per game which was best in the league. The Blazers led the nation turnovers lost for the season with just five.
Heading into the 2025 season, the Blazers were picked tied for second with West Alabama in the GSC Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was announced last week at the annual GSC Media Day in Birmingham, Ala.
