VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State head women's soccer coach
Stephen Andrew announced the 2025 fall schedule Thursday. The schedule features a total of eighteen matches including nine at the VSU Soccer Complex.
"We are looking forward to our fall schedule," Andrew said. "We have tried to put together a non-conference schedule that will challenge our group and prepare us for another competitive conference schedule in the GSC."
The 15
th season of women's soccer at Valdosta State gets underway on Sept. 4 as the Blazers travel to NCAA newcomer Middle Georgia in Cochran, Ga., as the teams are slated to meet to open the season for the second-straight year. VSU won 3-0 against Middle Georgia in the opener in 2024 in Valdosta.
The home slate begins with Palm Beach Atlantic visiting on Sept. 7, followed by road trips to Georgia College (Sept. 11) and Georgia Southwestern (Sept. 14). VSU returns home to host Embry-Riddle on Sept. 17, before Gulf South Conference play begins on Sept. 20 with a home matchup with Montevallo. The first month of the season concludes with road matches at Lee (Sept. 26) and at Trevecca Nazarene (Sept. 28).
October begins with road tilts at West Alabama (Oct. 3) and at UAH (Sept. 5), before the Blazers return home for four-straight home matches beginning Oct. 10 versus Spring Hill College. West Florida visits on Sunday, Oct. 12, followed by Auburn Montgomery on Oct. 18 and VSU will conclude the home stand with a non-conference matchup with Eckerd College on Oct. 20.
The Blazers then head to the Volunteer State to face Christian Brothers on Oct. 24 and Union on Oct. 26, before hosting Delta State on Halloween. VSU will welcome Mississippi College on Nov. 2 for Senior Day. The first round of the Gulf South Conference Championship will be played on campus sites on Nov. 10, followed by the GSC Semifinals and Championship Nov. 15-17 in Huntsville, Ala.
Andrew begins his ninth season at the helm of the Blazers and is the winningest coach in program history with a 66-53-14 (.549) record overall and a 51-35-10 (.583) record in league play. Andrew is 206-108-23 (.645) all-time beginning his 19
th season of coaching with previous stops at Huntingdon College and Piedmont College.
The Blazers finished the 2024 season with an 8-7-3 record overall and a 5-4-3 mark in GSC play as the team qualified for the GSC postseason tournament for the seventh time in eight seasons under Andrew.
He returns a talented group of players for 2025 and welcomes in a strong contingent of newcomers as the Blazers have their sights set on a GSC championship and a berth in the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2021.
