Chase Long sits at 2-over through 12 holes in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional as play was suspended due to rain and lightning Friday afternoon.
The second round will resume on Saturday at 7 a.m., followed by the final round at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Long, responded nicely and has a tap-in birdie attempt at No. 14 when play resumes on Saturday. He opened with an 84 on Thursday.
As for the team standings, all but Barton and Spring Hill College finished the second round on Friday before the rain. No. 4 North Georgia carded a staggering 15-under 273 to head into the final round with the lead at 18-under at 558 through 36-holes. No. 14 Wingate is second at 7-under 569, followed by No. 10 Florida Southern at 5-under 571. No. 13 Columbus State is fourth at 3-under 573, followed by No. 3 Lincoln Memorial at 577 to round out the top five. No. 2 West Florida is sixth at 578, followed by a tie for seventh between No. 9 USC Aiken and No. 5 Georgia Southwestern at 581.
The top seven teams following tomorrow's round and the top two individuals from non-advancing teams move onto the NCAA Division II National Championship scheduled for May 19-23 at PGA National in Palm Beach, Fla.
