Long Moves Up Five Spots in Final Round of 2025 NCAA South/Southeast Regional

HOWEY-in-the-HILLS, Fla. – Valdosta State senior Chase Long carded a final round 76 to finish with a 232 score at the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional Saturday at Mission Hills Golf Club. 
 
Long fired rounds of 84, 76 and 72 to finish 97th on the par 72, 7,015-yard course.  He had 30 pars and seven birdies for the championship to conclude his Blazer career.  Long had to play the final five holes from the second round this morning due to a weather delay late in the day yesterday and then right into the final round for his best round of the championship. 
 
No. 4 North Georgia won the regional title with a staggering 28-under 836 score, while No. 14 Wingate was second at 860, followed by No. 2 West Florida at 861 and No. 13 Columbus State was fourth at even par 864. 
 
No. 7 Lee finished at 867 for fifth, while No. 3 Lincoln Memorial was sixth at 868.  No. 9 USC Aiken and No. 10 Florida Southern tied for seventh at 869.  FSC won on a 1-hole playoff to be the final team to advance to the NCAA National Championship May 19-23 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach, Fla. 
 
Individually, King's Aasumnd Norum finished third to qualify for the championship with a 9-under 207 and Georgia Southwestern's Felipe Gomez also advanced finishing sixth at 6-under 210.
 
The 2025 fall season for the Blazers will get underway in September.
