PENSACOLA, Fla. – On a cold, rainy and windy day, the Valdosta State men's golf team had a tale of two rounds as it sits tied for 11
th heading into the final round of the 2025 Argonaut Invitational. The Blazers opened with a 297 score and finished with an even par 288 for a 585 score through 36-holes.
No. 8-ranked Georgia Southwestern leads host West Florida by two strokes as the Hurricanes are 24-under at 552, while No. 2 West Florida is 22-under at 554. No. 13 Columbus State is third at 11-under 565, while No. 3 North Georgia is fourth a 9-under 567. No. 19 Lander is fifth with a 6-under 570. No. 4 Lincoln Memorial sits sixth at 5-under 571, while No. 6 Lee is seventh at 2-under 574 for teams who are under par. University of Missouri-St. Louis is eighth at 577, while No. 9 USC Aiken is ninth at 580 and Flagler is tenth at 582. The Blazers and Montevallo are tied for 11
th at 585, while UT Tyler is 13
th at 587 and Dallas Baptist is 14
th at 586.
Individually, Georgia Southwestern's Joao Costa is 12-under 132 with a pair of 66's, while UWF's Per Ekelund is 11-under 133. UWF individual Trey Rouse is 8-under 136, while GSW's Felipe Gomez is 7-under at 137. In all, there are 29 players under par and an additional six at even par, including Blazer junior
Elad Sebbag who carded a 74 and 70 for a 144 score to pace the team and is tied for 30
th.

Chase Long is tied for 36
th at 145 on rounds of 72 and 73. Sophomore
Adam Waller is tied for 40
th at 146 on rounds of 74 and 72, while sophomore
Alexander Nilehn is tied for 67
th at 150 with rounds of 77 and 73. Senior
Parker Highsmith is tied for 74
th with a 154 score on a pair of 77's, while senior
Brandon Cho, playing as an individual, is tied for 77
th at 155 on rounds of 77 and 78.
VSU finished the first two rounds with 28 birdies and 111 pars, while Long was 1-under on par 3s to lead the team. Long and Sebbag paced the team at 1-over on par 4s, while Nilehn was 2-under on par 5s for a team-best. Cho also was 2-under on par 5s.
