VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State freshman softball infielder Krisley Arnold was named Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.  This is the second weekly honor of the season for Arnold.

A native of Adel, Ga., hit a team-best .375 for the week on 3 of 8 from the dish with two runs scored, two home runs and four RBI in a three-game series at Christian Brothers this past weekend.  Arnold slugged 1.125 with two walks for a .500 on base clip, while registering five putouts in seven chances with no errors.  She went 3 for 3 with two runs scored, four RBI, one walk and two home runs for her first multi-home run game of her career in the 14-10 win on Saturday against CBU.  In that game, VSU hit a school and GSC-record eight home runs.  The three hits marked her third game this season of registering three hits, while the four RBI were a season-best.

Arnold and the Blazers close the 2025 regular season this weekend with rival West Florida visiting Steel's Diamond at Blazer Park for a three-game series.  Friday's game gets underway at 5 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
