VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 34 Florida Southern Saturday afternoon at the VSU Tennis Complex.
The Blazers fell to 4-11 on the year, while Florida Southern improved to 14-4. FSC won all three doubles matches for the early lead. VSU duo of senior

Natalie Rainke battled to the end with FSC duo of Emily Jennewein and Ronja Scheurmann, falling 6-4 in the final match.
In singles, FSC won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6 as Kelly Klaren defeated senior
Valentina Jimenez at No. 6, 6-3, 6-0, for a 2-0 lead. Jennewein defeated senior
Kayla Greco at No. 5, 6-3, 6-3, for a 3-0 lead and clinched the match as No. 11 Olivia Bryant won 6-4, 6-4 over No. 26 Rainke at the top spot. Senior
Olivia Pezo was leading 3-0 in the third set at No. 3 over Scheuremann after they had split the first two sets with Scheuremann winning the first 6-3 and Pezo winning the second 6-4. Freshman
Alyssa Novoa was tied 6-6 in the second set over Beatriz Costa after Costa won the first 6-2.
The Blazers return to the road on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at No. 5 Embry-Riddle, before returning home to host No. 33 Georgia College on Friday at 2 p.m. for Senior Day and the final regular season match of the season.
