VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 34-ranked Valdosta State men's golf team opened the 2025 First Federal Southeastern Collegiate with a first round score of 302 and was 13
th through 18-holes as the second round was suspended due to darkness. The 54-hole tournament will conclude Tuesday morning, finishing the second round beginning at 9 a.m. and then right into the final round.
The tournament began an hour after originally scheduled due to excessive rain in Valdosta on Sunday and overnight. The field battled misty conditions with wind and cold temperatures all day Monday.
Georgia Southwestern led the 16-team field following the first round with a 9-under 279 on the par 72, Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. Lincoln Memorial was second at 8-under 280, followed by a tie for third between West Florida and Union at 4-under 284. Barry rounded out the top five with a 3-under 285 score. Eight teams shot under par for the first round and two more were even par.
Individually, Lynn's Joseph Hudak fired a 7-under 65 to lead the field, while there was a six-way tie for second at 4-under 68 and a four-way tie for eighth at 3-under 69. A total of 24 players shot under par for the first round and an additional 13 shot even par.
