VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's tennis team opened the 2025 spring season with a 5-2 loss at the VSU Tennis Complex to visiting Montevallo.
In doubles, Montevallo claimed the team point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3, but Blazer top duo of senior

Alyssa Novoa battled back and won 7-5 over Greta Vagnini and Johnanna Kullman.
Heading to singles, UM took a 2-0 lead as London Breedlove won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 over sophomore
Valentina Jimenez and went up 3-0 as Elena Ondobo won 6-3, 6-3 over senior
Olivia Pezo at No. 3 singles. The Falcons clinched the win as Kullman won 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4, and went up 5-0 with Klara Podskubkova winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 over sophomore
Natalie Rainke at the top spot.
Novoa won her first spring collegiate singles match as she battled back for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over Claire Jaramba for a 5-1 deficit. Fedorova won in straight-sets at No. 6 over Vagnini, 6-4, 6-3 for the final score of 5-2.
The Blazers return to action on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. at the VSU Tennis Complex versus Saint Leo.
