VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 7 Valdosta State Blazers head north, as they travel to Tennessee for a weekend trip to face the Lee Flames and Trevecca Nazarene Trojans on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. ET and Saturday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. ET.

This is the 112
th week the Blazers have been ranked in the NABC Coaches Poll history, as they have now been ranked in the top ten for 43 weeks and are ranked for the sixth straight week. VSU's highest ranking in history was No. 2, as that was back on 12/8/2009.
Valdosta State (17-3, 12-2 GSC) most recently beat West Florida in Pensacola, Fla. by a final of 104-96 last Saturday. Junior guard
Peter McKey scored a season high 14 points on 5-8 from the field and a near perfect 4-5 from deep. Senior
Braxton Williams was a force on both ends, as the guard tallied a career high five steals while leading the team in scoring with 22 points, making it the sixth time this season the guard has scored 20+ points in a game. Saturday's game was the sixth time the Blazers have scored 100+ as a team and their third in GSC play.

Mike Helfer's engine, as the University of New Orleans transfer is leading the team in PPG (18.1), MPG (26.7), free throws made (132), rebounds per game (6.4), assists (85), and steals (57). As a team, VSU is ranked sixth in the country in points per game as the Blazers are averaging just north of 94 PPG on a .464/.361/.766 shooting split. Valdosta State is holding the opposition to 81.8 PPG on a clip of .454/.293/.711 while forcing 19.4 turnovers per game, ranked 11
th in the country.
First up are the Lee Flames on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. ET, who are currently 9-10 overall and 5-10 GSC. The Blazers extinguished the Flames in Titletown earlier this season in the battle of the embers, as VSU came out with a 78-71 victory back on December 21. 78 points is the season low for Valdosta State, as they have scored 80+ in every game except the matchup earlier this season.
Carlos Hart scored a season high 29 points while hauling in nine rebounds as he went 8-15 from the field and 11-13 from the charity stripe. For Lee, Noah Boler-Kyle led the squad in scoring with 17 points on 7-10 from the floor and led the swatted a game high three shots. Lee is led by head coach Bubba Smith, who is in his ninth season at the helm of the Flames. During his time in Cleveland, Smith is 148-92 with four 20+ win seasons including each of the last two seasons. As a team, Lee is averaging 71.1 PPG while allowing 68.8 a night. The Flames shoot .468 from the floor, .340 from deep, and .755 from the line while holding the opposition to a .427/.336/.756 clip.
Following Thursday's matchup, the Blazers will make a trip to the Music City to face Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. ET to cap off the road trip. The Trojans joined the GSC this academic year and are 15-6 overall and 10-5 in GSC play as they sit in third place right behind the Blazers. After trailing by 13 at the break in Valdosta earlier this year, the Trojans battled back before the Blazers escaped with a 90-84 victory on December 19. TNU is led by head coach Kevin Carroll, who is his second year leading the Trojans. He carries a record of 31-19 in Nashville and has impressed early-on in the GSC. Carroll's top scorer is guard Jalen Page, who is averaging 22.1 points a night in 20 starts. In the matchup earlier this season, Page scored a season high 32 points while hauling in a season high 12 rebounds to go along with two blocks and three steals which are also season highs.
Following the weekend trip, the Blazers return to Valdosta to play host to Delta State on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. followed by Mississippi College on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m.
