Blazer Hoops Drops One Spot in NABC Rankings

VALDOSTA, Ga. – After previously being ranked No. 6 last week, the Valdosta State men's basketball team dropped one spot to the No. 7 spot in the weekly NABC Coaches Poll.  The Blazers went 1-1 last week, as they fell to No. 4 Alabama Huntsville on overtime before defeating West Florida on the road Saturday evening.
 
The top five remains intact, as Washburn, Daemen, Nova Southeastern, Alabama Huntsville, and Missouri S&T go in order. Dallas Baptist University (DBU) jumped two spots to No. 6 as they are 21-3 overall. Valdosta State, Lincoln Memorial, Lake Superior State, and Colorado School of Mines wraps up the top ten. This is the 112th week the Blazers have been ranked in the NABC Coaches Poll history, as they have now been ranked in the top ten for 43 weeks and are ranked for the sixth straight week. VSU's highest ranking in history was No. 2, as that was back on 12/8/2009.
 
Valdosta State will continue on the road, as they head to the Volunteer State to play Lee on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. ET followed by Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. ET.
