VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's basketball team were one of ten teams initially receiving consideration for the NCAA DII South Region Tournament, released by the NCAA on Wednesday evening.
 
The list is in alphabetical order and goes as follows:
 
Alabama Huntsville (22-1 Overall, 20-1 In-Region)
Florida Southern (20-6 Overall, 17-5 In-Region)
Lynn (13-7 Overall, 11-7 In- Region)
Miles (16-3 Overall, 16-3 In-Region)
Montevallo (14-7 Overall, 14-7 In-Region)
Nova Southeastern (21-1 Overall, 19-1 In-Region)
Palm Beach Atlantic (13-8 Overall, 12-8 In-Region)
Tampa (14-9 Overall, 12-9 In-Region)
Trevecca Nazarene (13-8 Overall, 13-8 In-Region)
Valdosta State (18-4 Overall, 18-4 In-Region)
 
The region rankings only count Division II games. The next two weeks will have numerical rankings followed by the selection show on Sunday, March 9 at 10:30 p.m. ET. The No. 1 seeds will be announced within one hour of the selection show which will then go on to host the South Regional. The first three rounds will be hosted by the top seed in each region with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals being played in Evansville, Ind., where each team will be re-seeded.
