Blazers Drop Three Spots in Weekly NABC Rankings

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's basketball team dropped three spots in the weekly NABC Poll, as they are now ranked No. 9. The Blazers were ranked No. 6 last week but fell to Delta State on Thursday night at The Complex before defeating Mississippi College on Saturday afternoon.
 
There was some shakeup at the top, as the former No. 1 Washburn suffered two losses last week as they dropped to No. 4 while Daemen is now the only undefeated team in DII at 23-0 as they take the crown at No. 1 for the first time in school history. Nova Southeastern takes the two spot followed by Alabama Huntsville at three with Washburn and Dallas Baptist rounding out the top five. Lincoln Memorial took VSU's spot at No. 6 with Colorado School of Mines, West Liberty, Valdosta State, and Columbus State finish in the ten spot. To view the full rankings, click here.
 
Valdosta State (20-4) is the highest ranked to team have suffered four or more losses as No. 13 Fairmont State is the next highest ranked school with four or more losses. The Blazers have now been ranked for 114 weeks in school history and are currently on an eight week streak of being ranked in the top 25 and have been ranked in the top ten for four straight weeks. The Blazers will finish their road conference slate this weekend, as they travel back to the Volunteer State to play Christian Brothers on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. ET followed by Union on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. ET.
