MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A barrage of goals over the final 20 minutes of the match, the Valdosta State women's soccer team and Christian Brothers scored a combined four goals as the Blazers prevailed 4-2 Friday evening notching their third-straight victory.  Blazer junior 
Kaitlyn Scherer finished with two goals to lead the team.   
 
Scherer scored her third goal of the season at the 59:34 mark for a 2-0 lead on a high shot over CBU goalkeeper Kaylee Allen.  Just over ten minutes later, the Lady Bucs got on the board with a goal from Madison Woolridge for a 2-1 score in the 71
st minute as it marked CBU's first shot on goal of the contest.  
 
CBU would tie the match just 2:48 minutes later as Alexa Franklin scored off an assist from Chloe May off a corner kick for a 2-2 score.  VSU answered right back as Scherer scored her second goal of the game with another high shot past Allen at the 75:47 mark.  In all, the teams scored three goals in a span of just 5:42.  The goal gave Scherer her first multi-goal game of her career and the goals Friday evening marked her third-straight match of scoring a goal.

Ameliah Dixon scored her first collegiate goal at the 79:26 mark with a nice dish from junior 
Taylor Youmans for a 4-2 lead.  It was Youmans' team-leading fourth assist of the season.  A total of four goals were scored between the 70
th and 80
th minutes.  
 
Franklin had a good look in the 80
th minute, but Blazer senior goalkeeper 
Claire Timberlake was there for her first save of the match.  The teams kept the chances coming with good looks over the final ten minutes by both teams, but the keepers were up to the challenges as the match ended 4-2.  
 
VSU improved to 4-7-4 overall and 2-6-1 in Gulf South Conference play with the victory.  The Blazers finished the match with 14 shots and nine on target, while CBU finished with 13 shots and five on frame.  Scherer finished with three shots and two on frame and two goals, while Kearns and Dixon each scored on their lone shots.  Timberlake finished with two goals against and three saves.

Jenni McIntosh had a good look, but CBU Allen was there for the save.  Later in the half, Blazer junior 
Kayleigh Kearns scored her second goal of the season with an assist from senior 
Victoria Bahr at the 31:55 mark for the first goal of the contest.  
 
The Blazers finished the first half with five shots and three on frame with the one goal, while CBU had five shots all off target for first 45 minutes.  Allen made two saves for the Lady Bucs.  Five different Blazers had one shot each in the half, while CBU's Cristal Tellez had three shots.  
 
CBU was led by Woolridge with two shots and one on frame with a goal and Franklin had two shots and both on target.  Allen had five saves.
