Stowe Named to NCBWA Preseason All-South Region First Team


VALDOSTA, Ga. – Following a tremendous 2024 regular season and postseason, Valdosta State senior slugger Hunter Stowe has been named to the 2025 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Preseason All-South Region First Team, announced on Wednesday morning.
 
Stowe has another award to add to his collection, as he was named to the D2CCA and NCBWA All-South Region in 2024 along with being named to the First Team All-GSC and GSC All-Tournament Teams.
 
Stowe was selected as a designated hitter (DH) and was the lone Blazer that was named to the team. Stowe was one of six players representing the GSC, as Delta State's Dylan Coleman was selected at third base (3B) while West Florida had their starting pitchers (SP) Dalton Neuschwander and Kade Manderschied being selected. Mississippi College outfielder (OF) JT Vance was also named to the team while Lee relief pitcher (RP) Tim Gooden was tabbed, wrapping up the GSC honorees.

In 2024, Stowe slashed .340/.462/.627 while tying the league lead in doubles with 19 in 46 starts. The Birmingham, Ala. native slugged eight home runs while driving in 50 Blazers while primarily playing designated hitter. Stowe also tallied 51 hits and scored a total of 31 runs for the VSU offense.
 
The Blazers open the Jan Weisberg era on the road, as they travel down to the Sunshine State to take on Rollins for a weekend series starting on Friday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. in Winter Park, Fla.
