1/21/2025 2:02:00 PM

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State Blazers jumped ahead seven spots to No. 11 in this week's NABC Division II Coaches Poll. VSU is on the midst of a nine game winning streak which is their largest since the 2019-20 season when they won 19 contests in a row.

Fellow GSC foe Alabama Huntsville jumped one spot to No. 4 in the most recent rankings. The Blazers and the Chargers will battle it out for the top spot in the GSC on this Thursday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. at The Complex.

Ten ranked teams lost this past week as there were some major shakeups within the top 25. Washburn sits atop the rankings with 15 of the 16 first place votes as the Ichabods are 17-0. Right behind them is Daemen, who are 16-0 and the only other undefeated team left. Nova Southeastern, Alabama Huntsville, and Findlay round out the top five. Lincoln Memorial, Colorado School of Mines, Ferris State, Missouri S&T, and Fairmount State round out the top ten.

Valdosta State is the third highest ranked team in the region, as they are behind No. 3 Nova Southeastern and No. 4 Alabama Huntsville in the rankings. After previously being ranked eight, Florida Southern dropped all the way to 20 after losing twice this past week. Palm Beach Atlantic dropped out of the rankings and are now receiving votes after they lost to Tampa last week while being ranked 23.
