Morgan Hill tallied a lead-off single just before
Abby Sulte launched her 26th homer of the year to put Valdosta State up 2-0 in a hurry. Sulte's 26th home run put her just one away from tying Courtney Albritton's Valdosta State and GSC single season record with 27 homers.
Â
UWG answered back almost immediately in the bottom of the first, picking up two runs on a single and a Blazer throwing error to even the contest at 2-2. The Wolves went on to take the lead in the bottom of the second with a solo home run to go up 3-2.

Â
The Wolves had another big inning in the bottom of the sixth, tallying three more runs on a three-run home run to go up by five heading into the seventh, 8-3. However, the Blazer would not go away quietly as a bunt from junior

Game #2: Valdosta State 12, West Georgia 3 (5 Innings)

Â
The Blazers continued to pile it on in a groundbreaking second inning as a lead-off walk led to Sulte making conference history. Later in the inning McNearney got in on the action, blasting a solo homer for her 12th home run of the year to put the Blazers up 5-0 by the end of the second.
Â
The Blazer bats continued to stay hot in the top of the third as two Blazers took hit-by-pitch walks to begin the inning. This home run also marks Hill's 57th career home run as a Blazer, putting her firmly at second place in Valdosta State history in the category. The inning was not quite over yet as Sulte took a walk before Gano blasted her 20th home run of the season on a two-run bomb to give VSU the 10-0 lead by the end of frame. Gano's home run also made history, tying the current single season conference record for home runs by a team, previously set by Valdosta State in 2023 with 109.
