Top-Seeded Lady Blazers Host No. 8-Seed West Georgia Tuesday Evening in Gulf South Conference Quarterfinal

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Following the 82-60 victory over Alabama Huntsville Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale, the top-seed Valdosta State women's basketball will host No. 8-seed West Georgia Tuesday, Mar. 5 at 6 p.m., at The Complex, in the quarterfinal round of the Gulf South Conference Championship.  
 
VSU ran its school-record winning streak to 23 games with the win on Saturday and won its first outright Gulf South Conference regular season title in program history when the league has not been split into divisions.  It marked VSU's seventh regular season title in program history as the Lady Blazers last won the East Division in 2020-21.
 
The Lady Blazers finished the regular season with a 26-2 record overall and a school-best 23-1 mark in GSC play.  West Georgia enters postseason play 16-12 overall and 12-12 in GSC play after a 64-42 loss to Delta State on Saturday afternoon.  
 
Tickets are on sale now for the "Super Tuesday" game on Mar. 5 in the VSU Athletic Ticket Office or by calling 229-333-SEAT (7328).  Reserved tickets are $12 for adults, while adult general admission seats are $10.  Youth tickets are $3 and there is no special price for seniors.
