Men’s Golf 13th After Two Rounds of Bobcat Invitational

EATONTON, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's golf team fired a 36-hole score of 592 on Monday and sit 13thheading into the final round of the Bobcat Invitational on the par 70, 6,071-yard Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee course.  Lander leads the 15-team field with 569 score. 
 
The Blazers opened with a 290 score and the teams then had to deal with a stiff wind in the second round as a number of the teams had elevated scores in the second round.  VSU fired a 302 for the second round.   Following Lander, West Florida sits one stroke back at 570, followed by USC Aiken (571) and a tie for fourth between Georgia Southwestern and North Georgia with a 572.  
 
Florida Southern is sixth at 576, followed by Saint Leo (579), Barry (580), while Rollins and Nova Southeastern are tied for ninth (583).  Coker is 11th at 587, followed by Flagler (591), VSU, Columbus State (598) and Georgia College is 15th at 604.
 
Lander's Victor Larsson leads the field with a 3-under 137 on rounds of 70 and 67, while Florida Southern's Adam Alvarez is second at 2-under 138 and there is a tie for third at 139, between Will Chambless of North Georgia and R. McDonald O'Brien of USC Aiken.  There is a six-way tie for fifth at 142. 
 
VSU junior Brandon Cho leads the Blazers as he is tied for 11th at 143 on rounds of 71 and 72, while freshman Adam Waller is tied for 47th at 149 (73-76) and freshman Alexander Nilehn is tied for 55th at 150 (72-78) as is sophomore Ty Folsom (74-76).  Sophomore Joshua Burki is tied for 73rd at 154 on rounds of 75 and 79.  
 
Due to a hard freeze expected tonight, the final round likely won't start before 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.  Click here for live stats of the tournament.
