Box Score AMERICUS, Ga. – The Blazer baseball team fell to the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes on Tuesday evening in a tough road contest. Valdosta State could only string three hits together for one run while allowing nine earned runs before eventually falling, 10-1.

Ryan Brown got the start on the bump tonight, and the High Springs, Fla. native went 4.1 innings while allowing five earned runs and eight hits. For the Hurricanes, Grant Adams got the start and was masterful, as he went 6.2 innings and allowed three hits and one run while striking out seven Blazers.

Pedro Moreno singled down the right field line to put runners at the corners with two outs, where they couldn't capitalize and still trailed 3-0 after three. GSW kept it coming in the bottom of the fifth, as they were able to plate a run on a VSU miscue before a single into left center brought home two more as the Hurricanes led the Blazers 6-0 through five. Valdosta State will have a long homestand, as they will play seven-straight games in Titletown starting on Friday, Mar. 15 with Alabama Huntsville at 5 p.m.
