BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Valdosta State women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 3 Lynn University Sunday morning. With the loss, the Blazers fell to 1-2 on the year, while Lynn improved to 2-0 on the year.
Lynn won the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2, but the Blazers fought hard as freshmen

Viktoriia Fedorova dropped a 6-3 decision at the top spot to Kristen Younes and Zofia Podbiol. At No. 2, freshman

Natalie Rainke lost 6-0 to Salma Djoubri and Greta Schieroni, while juniors
Kayla Greco and Oliva Pezo were in a dogfight at No. 3, trailing 3-4 to Dolores Molina and Jade Marie when the point was clinched.
For singles, Rainke showed great promise as she won the first set from top-ranked Djoubri 7-5, but dropped the next two sets 6-1, 6-1 at the top spot. Schieroni won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 over Fedorova and Pezo lost 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3. Greco trailed 4-3 to Podbiol at No. 5 and Hanakova lost the first set 6-3 to Jade Marie at No. 4 when the match was clinched.
The Blazers return home to prepare for a road match at Georgia College on Feb. 21 and then will host Columbus State at the VSU Tennis Complex on Feb. 29.
