VALDOSTA, Ga. – Sunday evening, Valdosta State University held a special graduation for thirteen Blazer student-athletes who will not be able to attend the normal graduation next week, due to competing in the Gulf South Conference Baseball and Softball Championships.
Held in the Student Union Theater with a large contingent of family, friends, faculty and staff on hand, Valdosta State University President, Dr. Richard Carvajal and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Bob Smith, presented each with their degrees.
The 2023 spring student-athlete graduates included;
Jose Crisostomo-Bock,
Bryson Gandy,
Zach Henderson, Ralph Morla, Jr.,
Brandon Raiden,
Tyler Spitzbarth,
Kevin Tomas, along with graduate assistants
Mike Christopoulos and
Cory Wright from baseball. From softball,
Morgan Hill and
Taylor Lewis, along with graduate assistant
Caylee Hancock also received their respective degrees. The 13
th honoree was women's soccer standout
Mallory Johnson. Hill also received her Presidential Award of Excellence for the College of Nursing and Health Science as well.
